A new online tool is making it easier for small business to learn about their workers compensation obligations and find out what to do when a worker is injured.

The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is conducting qualitative research with selected claimants to better understand the customer experience and recovery of people who have made either a workersscompensation or compulsory third party (CTP) insurance claim.

SIRA has advised surgeons and relevant medical groups of planned changes to surgical fees in the NSW workers compensation scheme. The proposed change will bring surgical fees in workers compensation in line with AMA rates and fees paid in the CTP scheme, while still being among the highest of all Australian jurisdictions.
